Some articles and other stuff Canucks related
I kinda figured that being a hockey player was kinda like being a teacher - smooth sailing after the school year/hockey season had ended. Well, perhaps to a degree but apparently they still have to maintain their workout regimen tailored by Roger Takahashi, the strength and conditioning coach. Here's the article on canucks.com.
Also, there continue to be speculation around Ohlund moving - an article by Gallagher. Well, hmm... There're reasons why players negotiate for no trade clauses. It'd have to take a lot of incentive or a really bad home/working environment to convince a player to waive a NTC. It's not impossible that Ohlie would move but it would just surprise me if he did. Where would he agree to move to though? What would be another good city to move to to play hockey? Dave Scatchard and Ed Jovanovski are in Phoenix, Jarkko Ruutu is in Pittsburgh, Brad May is in Anaheim, Bryan Allen is in Florida, Marek Malik is in New York, Sopel is back in Van..

I'm sick of these rumours--they happen every summer and I actually worry and fret about them! While it's not impossible that Ohlie would waive his NTC I would be surprised if he did too. He likes it here, his kids are in school--they think of Vancouver as home more than they do Sweden and all his son's doctor's are here.
